- 1-2:30pm and 4-5pm: Shooting. State transition functions. Examples of analytical STFs for LTI systems. Periodicity. Periodicity in a differential equation solution is equivalent to periodic boundary conditions. Descriptions of possible projects.

- 1-2:30pm and 4-5pm: Descriptions of possible projects (contd.). Shooting: the shooting equation. Computing the shooting function. Computing its derivative. Extension to DAEs. Harmonic Balance: overview. Hand-based HB on a simple example. Code/demo in MAPP.

- 2-3:30pm: HB on general DAEs: the key issues. HB terminology: vectors of Fourier coefficients of x(t), u(t), qt, ft),u(t, etc.. Obtaining the F. coeffs of q()/f() from those of x(t) and u(t): freq.- to time-domain transformation, DAE evaluation in the time domain, time- to freq-domain transformation. The Discrete Fourier Transform matrix. Using the DFT/FFT to perform time/freq domain transforms accurately and efficiently using MATLAB's fft and ifft functions. Demo: upgrading hand based HB to a more general form using HB terminology.
